Ronald McSwagDonald

Here you McGo. You McWanted to know what the new Ronald Mcdonald looks like, here he McIs in all his McGlory. The McNews was announced via McTwitter, if you would like to read all about it and some of the McReactions and much more about than you could ever McWant, then you can follow this McLink.

In my opinion, he's dressed exactly how I always figured executives at McDonald's dressed anyway.

  1. And you put this "Nifty Mascot" as one of the 'pros' of why to pick McDonald's over healthy food, lol. McDonald's is and has been trying too hard to earn back some lost ground that it gave away to people becoming more 'health nuts' or just simply switching to their competition. While I know this is bad for business at McDonald's, they just can't seem to make good decisions in their decisions' processes anymore! McRib (tastes like cardboard), fish sticks in meals which have ben frozen for I don't know how long, pink slime, its just too many things for McDonald's to fix. They need to get back to basics and narrow their products and target market down in my opinion. That would be McFabulous for sure.

  2. Okay, I agree, he looks pretty creepy. In my opinion, this doesn't match McDonald's brand, but I could be wrong because I haven't ate McDonald's food in over 3 years. I only go there for their ice cream cones or sundaes because they're delicious and a little over a dollar. However, I have noticed some healthier options on their menu. Perhaps this explains the new Ronald McDonald because the old one appears a little overweight or it could just be the large clothing he is wearing, but in order change their brand image, it appears they had to also change their outdated mascot.

  3. Creepy for sure! I really don't understand the reasoning behind this. From a marketing and strategy standpoint it seems that McDonald's is trying too hard. Never have I thought of McDonald's of a cool/hip organization or any reason to be. How is Twitter and Selfies going to help? Is this because of Taco Bell's new breakfast menu and clever commercials?

  4. I have been a loyal customer of McDonalds since I worked there as a teenager. Although McDonalds has lost customers lately because they lost sight of providing good "service" along with a healthier menu, they actually do more business than the other four major competitors combined. I actually am one of those people who lost over 100 pounds while eating at McDonalds. I would eat the hamburgers without the buns and a diet coke. (Atkins diet) I did this for over two years. I alternated from eating those patties for six months, then off on a calorie counting diet for six months. The mascot is interesting. It seems that they are switching from a fun "comedic" or carnival style outfit to a hip business style outfit. It seems to me that they are trying to reach more mainstream adults.

  5. He still looks creepy. McDonalds is in big trouble regarding sales. Store franchise owners are unhappy with corporate. Store sales are down. Employees are not paid a living wage for their work. The landscape of fast food is changing rapidly. The new character will not right sinking ship.

  6. Personally, I prefer the classic yellow jumpsuit. This new “modern and relevant” Ronald isn’t working for me. I’ve heard that McDonald’s sales have gone down drastically due to over-complicated menus and poor overall service. The McDonald’s CEO stated that in order to fix this issue, “the key is going to really be to re-establish the trust of customers." Does this clown look more trustworthy, anyone? Do executives actually think this marketing ploy will help them drive extra revenue? I think it is a silly, but only time will tell if it’s actually successful.

  7. I see the difference between the two maskots. I just understand the reasoning behind it. Will this new maskot really bring in more business. I have not eaten at McDonald's in so long, I can't even remember the last time I ate there.

  8. I looked at this picture and immediately noticed his hair, the color is so bright, he looks like he just went to the salon and got his hair done. I understand why they want him to look more modern, but I liked him better before, he's always been a goofy clown character, now he looks like a clown going for a job interview.

  9. I despise this fast food chain it is disgusting I have not liked this place the 21 years of me being alive. Well other then that the character above is exactly what I pictured him from looking. I like what you said that the executives dress like that and I do not doubt that one bit.

  10. I personally still think he looks very creepy and not friendly. His look is a little more modern but still in the same sense the same as he was before. I don't understand how changing his look is going to make them more exciting or hip? I just don't think he really matches McDonalds as a brand, I think they should have kept him the same, if he even were to keep him at all.
